Scott Silverstein MD
Dr. Scott Silverstein is a board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon with more than 25 years of experience. He has honored to be named a Top Doctor in Knee Replacement, General Orthopedics, and Sports Medicine by Baltimore Magazine numerous times during his 20 years in the area. He sees many patients for second opinions and is always willing to figure out complex problems. He actually enjoys helping fix painful knees done by other physicians.
A Pittsburgh native, Dr. Silverstein earned his undergraduate degree in business from Boston University and his medical degree from the prestigious University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He completed his internship and orthopedic surgical residency at the West Virginia University (WVU) Hospitals in Morgantown, where he performed numerous surgeries and served as their first chief resident. Dr. Silverstein was also an assistant professor on the WVU faculty after graduating and served as the education director.
He is affiliated with Howard County Surgery Center and Northwest Hospital and most healthy patients are Outpatients
Outside the office, Dr. Scott Silverstein enjoys weight training, travel, and spending time with his wife and twins. He is a graduate of the Boston Bartending School (so he knows how to listen) although he once tried to card Marvelous Marvin Hagler unsuccessfully. He once submitted a screenplay to the show Seinfeld.He successfully climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in 2000, and his feet are still sore! He is an avid Foo Fighters, Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins fan.
